It has been exceptionally rainy in Doha this year. Here is a great picture of a cloudy Doha night.
Last night when I was sleeping, I heard the sound of rain and thunder, so I woke up to close my window. As I laid back down, I could still hear the rain and I felt like I was back at home. It was the best most snuggly feeling in the world. It's 17:00 here in Doha now, and the rain is pouring down outside. I'm about to leave work for the day, but I have no umbrella and no coat. I never thought I would need an umbrella here...heck, I don't even think they sell them here!
Qatar is the richest country in the world per capita due to their greatest asset, natual gas. As you can see from the photos below, has drastically changed in the past 35 years, and is still continuing to grow and expand. Doha, Qatar's capital, is now one of the fastest growing cities in the world.
