Ok, in the Washington Post, they have said that John McCain has not voted or been present in the Senate for 5 weeks and has missed 43 votes. Instead of voting for a resolution for the Iraq war (a really important issue for ALL Americans), he was out campaigning in NYC.
He hasn’t been present to cast a single vote since his disappointing fundraising figures came out. Granted, McCain isn’t the only Senator missing votes due to the presidential election, he is just missing a lot more. Yes, he is campaigning for president, so I realize he is going to miss voting, but 5 weeks and counting seems ridiculous. To him, he feels that he will only show up and actually make the effort to vote, if his vote will be the determining factor.
I do have admirable respect for Senator McCain, he has served the United States for the majority of his life, but I honestly think that he will not get the Republican nomination. He didn’t get the nomination 7 years ago, so why is he expecting to get it now?!?…poor him…another person who will not admit that it’s over before it’s begun.
Which band or artist which is no longer performing or alive would you have loved to have seen?

Hands down The Beatles...need I say more?!? I would have never been given the opportunity to see them because I was born the year that John Lennon was shot. I think that it would've been amazing to see all of them together, even at their older age, if John and George were still alive. They are the most timeless band in history...I just love them.
I watched this documentary of children in Congo being in militias and how it is destroying the civilization of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This isn't discussed much in the media because Africa is not a focal point to the world, but these are stories of children, how they hurt others, and how they are hurt themselves. It seriously opened my eyes to the topic and the issues that lay below the surface. Click to watch it.
On the news I saw the President of Gambia, Yahya Jammeh, claiming he can cure AIDS by using a combination of prayer, herbs, bananas, and peanuts. He blows on some peanuts, has the person eat a banana, and then he gives them his secret herbal shake. He will not give his special treatment to anyone though. As a matter of fact, he has refused to give it to many people. He said that if even an alien came in from outer space wanting the cure, he would refuse. His reasoning behind this is that the Coca-Cola Company doesn't give out their recipe, and insists that he shouldn't either.
A poll done indicated that approximately 80% of the people in his country believe that he knows the cure for this incurable disease.
